New Life to an Old Dress

You know that dress that you have hanging in your closet that you have already worn a million times? Yes a million times. The one that still fits pretty darn good, but the pattern or style may not excite you anymore? I have that dress. I have a few of those dresses. Being in a workplace that required me to dress up for so many years, I accumulated fashion that may not mesh with my style now.

I am trying very hard to stay budget concious. (See babe, I confessed it on the BLOG. That must mean it is real!) So I am trying to find ways to bring life to these older pieces of clothing. Especially since they still fit correctly.

Here is my first look: Crazy patterned dress brought back to life by a bold berry hue.

Dress: Dillards {very old} | Blazer: Part of Anne Kleine Skirt Suit {very old} | Shoes: Preview International via Nordstrom Rack {old} | Bracelets: Kenneth Cole {old, but loving these new metals for fall!} | Glasses: H&M

When bringing new life to this dress I was very lucky I actually found older pieces to incorporate into this look. I guess you could call this a closet remix!

My one piece of advice for the day: Go dig in your closet! You are bound to find something that you can make work and wear it in a way you've never worn it before!

I actually just took a dress to my seamstress to fix up for me! It is beautiful, fits perfectly, and is still in style...BUT it's strapless and I feel naked in it. Fingers crossed that it works out the way I want it to!

I always say I'm going to do that, but then I end up going to buy something new and stuff sits in my closet forever! I love the way you styled this. The pink is gorgeous!

Adding an awesome pink blazer like that can jazz anything up! I love it paired with this equally awesome dress. Heather

Love your advice for the day! I might have to try that tomorrow. And I love this look and I love that you made pieces you already owned work. That blazer is such a pretty color.

I actually like the dress. I don't think it's 'old looking' at all. It works really well with the berry colored blazer!
