Windy City

 Tunic: c/o Ronen Chen {love this color blocked version} | Tights: Hue | Long-sleeve: JCrew | Boots: Cole Haan {on sale!} | Bracelets: Michael Kors, Stella & Dot, Stella B, and JCrew | Glasses: Cole Haan | Lips: MAC-Ruby Woo

We have had some extreme wind in NC! It has made for chilly walks outside. I love how I am able to layer underneath a tunic for these transition days and shed the layers once warmer weather is upon us!

Cold Weekend

I always feel for the Northern bloggers or when I'm home trying to take pictures in Minnesota...

It was freezing this weekend very "snow/rainy." Which you can read...very hard to take outfit pictures in. So here is my, I just want to go to a movie and get out of this nonsense attire.

Coat: Target {old, similar} | Shirt: Target | Denim: Current/Eliott | Shoes: Kenneth Cole | Necklace: Baublebar | Gloves: Old Navy {similar} | Hat: Target {not online, recent in store, major sale!}

So we did go to a movie...saw Safe Haven and loved it! Definitely shocked Nicholas Sparks had a "thriller" on his hands! Julianne Hough is amazing!

I'd bake you a mudpie...

Words from one of my favorite songs: "If we were children I would bake you a mudpie..."

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

A little throwback for this day full of mushy gushy love....college sweethearts!

Also here is a lovey dovey playlist to get you through the work day. Yes...my music taste is all over the place.

Love Day

Sweater: The Limited {sold out, similar here} | Skirt: Halogen | Necklace/Bracelet: Coldwater Creek {not online, in stores} | Glasses: Calvin Klein {not online, love these} | Shoes: Steve Madden {old}

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I wanted to leave you with a little Valentine's Day outfit inspiration. Yes, I do look like a walking Valentine, but it was fun! I love the boldness of pairing red and pink together any day of the year, but it is extra special when you want to feel all lovey dovey! I included some pearl statement pieces to dress up the look for the workplace.

Valentine's Gift Ideas

Guys and Dolls

Just a few ideas for the guys or dolls in your life. Maybe even send your sig other a hint hint for what you maybe want this Valentine's Day? I've seen other gift guides that are so cute and fun for guys...but in all reality...my husband would run, not walk, right back to the department store and starting returning. His ideal gift? He would be ecstatic with a Cabela's giftcard.

Black + Blue

Shirt: JCrew | Skirt: Halogen | Jacket: The Limited {similar} | Scarf: The Limited | Shoes: Steve Madden | Glasses: Armani Exchange

Black and blue can be a bit boring and maybe remind some of a bruise. However, I love when the two are paired together in a print! The soft fur scarf softened the look and added warmth on this chilly day!

Vintage Coach

Top: H&M {recent, similar on sale!} | Skirt: H&M {recent, similar} | Coat: Target {old} | Shoes: Nine West {similar} | Purse: Vintage Coach - borrowing from my Mom | Bracelets: J.Crew, Stella B | Ring: J.Crew | Glasses: Calvin Klein

I love visiting home and borrowing a few of my mom's older items, like this gorgeous Coach. My sisters and I usually have wars over them, but end up sharing in the end. The only problem now is we live all across the country...we should set up a UPS account to ship back and forth. I was so excited when Coach launched their new Legacy line this past year. The clean lines and simple, structured shapes make the perfect work bags.

Sponsors

I wanted to introduce two lovely sponsors to all of my wonderful readers:

First, let me introduce you to Glow Kouture. Glow Kouture is an accessory line of original handmade handbags, clutch purses and other sewn unique goods for the fashion forward shopper who likes to be different. Kenye Pierce launched Glow Kouture in November 2008 with a vision to create a brand of stylish purses that would inspire and empower every woman to shine in the modern world while endowing a sense of charm and class.

I just can't get over the gorgeousness that is this clutch! I love the mix of oxblood and soft suede! Head on over and shop Glow Kouture's other various selections of clutches and pouches!

Second, let me introduce you to the lovely Lindsay Boland, designer behind Jennie Called Jane Designs. Lindsay did such a wonderful job designing my blog and was so insightful to what a blog needed!

Top: The Limited | Sweater: The Limited {paisley print} | Pants: LOFT | Coat: Target {old, similar here} | Vest: H&M {recent, similar on sale!} | Boots: Ralph Lauren {similar} | Necklace: c/o Versona Accessories | Earrings: Target {old} | Glasses: Calvin Klein {similar}

I went shopping in my very own closet this weekend and found a few pieces I have not worn in quite awhile! It was a fun way to re-examine what I already own. This mustard colored shell and sweater I bought at The Limited last winter was the perfect touch for the chilly weather we had. By layering different pieces I was able to give an overall different look I have not tried yet. I encourage everyone to shop their closet and see what you come up with!
