I love to host a good party. Good party equals good food and drinks. However, when I'm hosting for my girlfriends we are always very careful what we consume. Even though we know we will have fun, we don't want to have to spend 4 hours in the gym the next morning. 

After learning about Sinless Cocktails, a super cute husband and wife team determined to come up with the perfect low calorie cocktail mix, I was intrigued! Only 5 calories a serving? This must taste like water. But NO. I was pleasantly surprised. The Margarita Mix and Mojito Mix were both very flavorful and sweet! But not too sweet. These would make for the perfect party drink! We've been having some inbetween days here in NC. Warm enough to wear bare legs and open toed shoes, yet I still grab a coat. I love how a touch of leather gives any look a little edge. A fitted top and skirt will also give the appearance of a sheath dress {my favorite!}

So how do you feel about Pantone's color of the year? I have heard a mix of reviews. Personally, I am indifferent. I think Emerald is a gorgeous color and I am excited to style it this year and see how everyone else is going to style it! This blouse is the perfect way to ease into wearing the new color of the year. Emerald is mixed with a royal blue and black for a soft chiffon look!

I could not get over how cute these pictures were of Chelsea and her husband. Plus...I need that yellow dress!

So thankful for Mae's post on her top 5 drugstore finds. I picked up the ROC Daily Resurfacing Disks and saw a difference within days! I'm hooked!

My favorite color to wear is RED. Yes, bright red makes me feel unstoppable. I think every girl can rock it. So Rachel's post had me swooning...

And lastly, wanted to send some much needed love towards Joey. As a fellow football coach's wife, I understand the pain and frustration she is having to deal with right now. Let's send some love and support to help her get through the next few months and her move! Go Camels!

How do you get your husbands to eat that stuff?

Alright my roommate/husband is the pickiest eater known to mankind. Seriously. I know 4 year olds who eat better than he does. When we first started dating, it was the worst! Now, I will give him credit where much credit is due...he has grown his taste and will eat things he never dreamed of eating before. Like avocado...who hates avocado?

My first experience trying to get him to eat a healthy substitute, I tried sneaking it into a normal meal. I made spaghetti with meat sauce. Instead of ground beef, I used ground turkey. Oh the horror. I couldn't tell the difference, it didn't look any different. So when he came home from work I set it in front of him thinking I might just get away with this. After his first bite..."Mia, what is this? This is not beef." Oh ok macho man. Busted.

Well this got me thinking as I came across this post this week, how would I ever get my husband to eat that?! He would see the orange and the sauce and freak out! It's too bad, because it looks oh so delicious to me!

Well...I finally surrender and figure...this is what I have girlfriends for. My girlfriend Lindsay made me the most insane dinner this week. Hamburgers with smoked provolone, basil mayo and sauteed onions and mushrooms. For sides she had a cucumber salad with tomatoes, feta and red wine vinegar and soft homemade pretzels with pimento cheese. I was in heaven.

We all know I'm obsessed with the color maroon/burgundy/oxblood. As much as I'm excited for Spring to arrive, I'm a little sad to say goodbye to this rich hue. I tried lightening up the mood a bit by pairing it with a bright red and I loved the result! Or I just love wearing anything with a little peplum...

I love how unexpected this fur scarf is in the oxblood color. I chose to pair it with darker colors to stay within a dark color palette, yet I think it adds a hint of brightness to the overall look.

I'm back in North Carolina and the weather is nice and warm, yet 60 still feels cool when leaving for work and returning at the end of the day. I love pairing this camel color with black to get me through the entire day. I wear a breezier top to not get too overheated when wearing a wool coat in warmer weather.

I think finding a winter accessory in a bright pop of color is a gorgeous contrast to the cold dreary days. It also makes me want to reach to the bottom of my purse to keep pulling these beauties out! I also like to throw a printed coat over a very simple outfit to make it interesting.

Dress Up in Granny's Closet

Keith and I had the chance to go home and spend the Holidays with our family and we got to spend the day with my Grandparents on Christmas. My Granny was the original fashionista and at age 26 I still love to go home and wear her things! It was so cold and snowy, I had to play dress up in her fur. I drown in it, but it sure was fun!
